Our house was a rehab when we purchased it, but we couldn't afford to redo the roof as part of our initial overhaul. A few years down the line, a downpour opened up leaks in several rooms at once. Larry and the CRC team were recommended by our general contractor, and he came out quickly for an inspection and estimate.
Our home's previous owner was a handyman who had done a lot of improvements just-good-enough, and part of that included how the roof had been treated at the edges of the house and chimney. Larry pointed out these issues, let us know what would happen if we left them in place, and gave us the option to fix them. They also helped put in the correct size gutters for the size and slope of our roof, something that had only been done to one side of the house previously.
Everything was done on time and on budget. We were never pressured into more expensive materials, and the costs of everything were clearly broken out. The yard was well-cleaned afterwards, and a 10-year loan for the work (with no early payment penalty) was serviced smoothly.

Aside fromreplacing our roof, a job we were totally satisfied with, the latest job was replacing the portico on the front of our house. It was pulling away from the house and had to be torn off and completely rebuilt, then reattached to the house.
Again, the demolition, workmanship, and replacement of the portico was outstanding. I actually received a call from the office telling me to be patient with the man in charge of the job as the job might take longer than I had expected. You see, the gentleman was a perfectionist and if he did not like how something he did turned out, he would do it over.
Would that other workmen have this problem!
The only thing I wonder about is the referral fee for recommending my brother, ________ (name omitted for privacy). You actually did his roof too and he was totally pleased with the price and the job done. Your company is great to work with and when we have to replace the siding and gutter, you will be the company doing the job.

Hi Larry,
I received your request for offering a comment as to the result of your company doing several jobs at the above address. I have experienced no problems as to the replacement of the supports for the front porch - neighbors were highly complimentary about the results. So far there has been no noticeable leakage from the flat roof. The gutters which were replaced on the back side of the house had to be reinforced at the porch's roof eave since the water had been coming between the eave and the roof's gutter. The start of the gutter on the back's flat roof still needs to be reinforced since it, too, is not flushed against the the edged of the roof. There is still lots to do here. The outside basement door still needs to be replaced with a metal one. The ground gutters in front and back need to be extended since I am getting some water in the basement at these locations. The outside faucet needs to be replaced.
I always found you and the crew that came to do the work to be friendly, polite and respectful. Also ditto for Patty in your office. Sure hope you are feeling good.

"No more leaks! Great job!"
Replaced flat tar roof on older row home. They removed all of the previous roof, the tar and asphalt, laid down the new roof, which was modified bitumen (a rubber roof). They also replaced the skylight and removed an old air conditioner that was sitting on the roof but not hooked in. They were very efficient at cleaning up after themselves when the work was done, which was no small feat considering the amount of tar and asphalt that was pulled off my roof at the start.
I initially contacted John back in September of 2006 because the person whom I initially contacted said that he didn't do flat roofs. I had a total of three estimates, which initially was to fix a leak and two of the three wanted to replace the roof. But since I didn't have the money at that time, I opted for the patch job, from a different roofing contractor, which didn't work. So, when I came into a bit of money I called John back and decided to go ahead with the job. From the start John was very professional, of all of the roofing contractors I contacted previously, he came to the estimate with a professional folder with all of his company's paperwork, tearsheets on the materials used, the certificate of roof guarantee, which is 20 years and his state licensing information. I also liked that he worked on commercial grade projects. I didn't actually see him when the work began, but his expert crew was friendly, efficient and extremely hard working. No more leaks! Great job!
